Refunds, Returns & Cancellations

We’re here to do right by the community. This policy covers SCGC merch purchases and SCGC event registrations, including how returns, refunds, credits, and transfers work.

Merch returns
30 days to request a return for eligible items.
Items must be unused and in original condition.

If SCGC cancels
100% refund or 100% credit — your choice.

Merch (Shop) returns & refunds

Applies to SCGC hats, apparel, accessories, and other physical products.

Return window

You may request a return within 30 days of delivery (or within 30 days of the date the tracking shows delivered).

Eligible items

  • Items must be unused, unworn, and in original condition.
  • Original packaging (tags, bag, box) should be included when applicable.
  • If an item arrives damaged or incorrect, see “Damaged or wrong items” below.

Not eligible for return

  • Final sale items (clearly marked at purchase)
  • Custom or personalized items (e.g., custom names, one-off runs)
  • Items showing signs of wear, washing, odor, stains, or damage caused after delivery
  • Gift cards / digital products (if offered)

Return shipping

Return shipping is typically paid by the customer. If we sent the wrong item or it arrived damaged due to our error, we’ll cover return shipping or send a replacement.

Refunds

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method after we receive and inspect the return.
  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
  • If the item is returned used or damaged, we may reduce or deny the refund.

Exchanges

If you need a different size/color, the fastest route is usually to return the item (if eligible) and place a new order. If we have inventory, we’ll do our best to help coordinate an exchange.

Damaged or wrong items

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of: (1) the item, (2) the packaging, and (3) the shipping label. We’ll make it right with a replacement, store credit, or refund depending on availability.

Events (registrations) cancellations & refunds

Applies to SCGC-run events (tournaments, scrambles, meetups). Each event page may include additional details.

Why: event costs lock in fast (course commitments, food counts, staffing, swag, prizes, and payment processing).

Transfers (recommended)

If you can’t make it, you may transfer your registration to another person/team at no cost, as long as you notify us prior to check-in. Transfers help us keep the event full and avoid last-minute waste.

Credits

  • Credits are typically issued as an SCGC code or account credit for future events (and may be usable in the shop if stated).
  • Credits are valid for 12 months from the issue date unless otherwise noted.
  • Credits are non-transferable once issued (unless we approve an exception).

Weather & course conditions

Golf happens outdoors. If conditions are playable and the course remains open, the event will proceed. If the course delays, shortens, or modifies play, we may adjust the format/prizes to keep it fair and safe.

If SCGC cancels or reschedules

  • If SCGC cancels an event, you may choose (a) a full refund or (b) 100% credit.
  • If we reschedule, you can keep your registration for the new date or request a refund.

Emergencies

Life happens. If an emergency prevents attendance inside the 48-hour window, reach out as soon as possible. We may offer a partial or full credit at our discretion depending on timing and whether your spot can be filled.

No-shows

No-shows are not eligible for refunds. In some cases, we may offer a courtesy partial credit if you contact us before the event starts and your spot can be filled.

How to request a return, refund, credit, or transfer

Send the info below and we’ll take care of it quickly.

  • Order / registration name and the email used at checkout
  • Order number (for merch) or the event name (for registrations)
  • What you’re requesting: refund, return, credit, or transfer
  • If damaged/wrong item: include photos of item + packaging + label

Processing note: refunds may take a few business days to appear depending on your bank/card issuer.

This policy may be updated from time to time. The version in effect at the time of purchase/registration applies.
